Location

As name suggests I'm coming from Georgia, but last several years I live in Oslo, Norway. I often travel to Georgia to visit relatives and friends and time to time travel to Ukraine where my wife's relatives live.

Work

I work in Core Technology department of Opera Software ASA, where I am involved in quality assurance and web standards related activities. Before joining Opera, I used to work in Razmadze Mathematical Institute as junior researcher.

Education

I have Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics and used to study symmetries in integrable models, but at the moment I'm no longer involved in research and now work in IT sector.

Languages

I can communicate in Georgian, English, Russian and Norwegian. I understand Ukrainian well, but don't speak much yet. Understand to some extent Swedish and written Danish. In 2007-2010 years I was involved in work on Scandinavian-Georgian and Ukrainian-Georgian dictionaries.

Markup languages

In 2001-2006 years I was involved in XML MAIDEN project, that was intended to create markup language for mathematical formulae. It's XML application, so web browsers can parse it as XML and format with CSS. But it was not widely used and development was stopped in 2006. Instead I am now participating in W3C Math activity, where I am member of W3C Math Working group and work on CSS profile of MathML (Mathematical Markup Language).
